A message from the publisher
In the spring of 2000, the NMLRA withdrew support for Muzzle Blasts Online and the electronic publication ceased adding content.
One of the founder's and current owner has chosen, at his personal expense, to maintain the content for the benefit of the blackpowder community.
Please enjoy.
Foreword by Eric A. Bye
Welcome to the May/June issue of Muzzle Blasts Online . In this issue we have a wonderful story by Marge Pepiot, A Heritage Preserved, telling about the beginning of the NMLRA. Also, the 1996 Black Powder Hall of Fane winners are listed with a short story about each. We will be honoring the 1997 recipients during the general membership meeting in June. June 14 - 22, 1997, the NMLRA will hold its' National Championship Shoot at the Walter Cline Range in Friendship, Indiana. Anyone needing information on the matches or the shoot, please call the office at (812) 667-5131.
Bruce Rodd relates how some enterprising people get much of the ice and firewood needed for rendezvous donated at little expense. Saving money there allows the other rendezvous money to be spent elsewhere, like on great prizes or better facilities. Join John Woolfolk as he gives you ideas for your next trail walk.
For those of you who are looking for a great new rifle, there are two being given away during the NMLRA Fall Nationals in September. Find out how you can win the Gunmaker's Hall rifle or the Primitive Range Giveaway rifle. The articles include short write-ups about the guns and how they were made. We hope you enjoy this issue.
